By an internationally filled jury of experts the project "Visualisation of textile implants in MRI by inclusion of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles" was chosen and awarded within the innovation contest of medical technology 2007 arranged by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
In co-operation with the University Clinic Aachen and the Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Technology, FEG Textiltechnik mbH in the next three years will develop a mesh implant which will visualise the body reactions to the implant in MRI and thus will contribute to an improved patient surveillance.
